Event Recap: The Bitcoin Classic at Rucker Park
Team Gotham Hoops advanced to the semi-finals in The Bitcoin Classic at Rucker Park
The Bitcoin Classic hosted their two-day, adult basketball event in New York City this month. The eight-team tournament featured local players and pros across the East Coast. Teams competed at the world famous Rucker Park in Harlem, NY.
In their first game, Team Gotham Hoops went back-and-forth with the Knickerbocker All-Stars. Gotham Hoops trailed in the second half before going on a 20-4 run to aid a 78-69 victory.
On Championship Day at The Rucker, Gotham Hoops faced Boston-based Citi Team. The two teams exchanged baskets throughout the first half as Gotham Hoops went into the break with a five-point advantage.
The Citi Team secured enough stops-and-scores down the stretch to hold on to win, 56-47. The Citi Team then went on to defeat Pedro’s Posse, a Florida-based team, in the Final to win the $20K Bitcoin prize.
Team Gotham Hoops participants were Junior Saintel (Stony Brook ‘18), Michael Balogun (Arkansas Tech ‘15), Elijah Bailey (New Haven ‘21), Raiquan Clark (Long Island ‘20), Jaelyn Johnson-Coston (Florida Memorial ‘17), Daniel Dingle (Temple ‘17), Pauly Paulicap (West Virginia ‘22) and Moussa Kone (Hofstra ‘15).

Gotham Hoops Tips-Off The Bitcoin Classic at Rucker Park
A team comprised of local pros are competing in a multi-day, winner-take-all tournament hosted at Rucker Park.
HARLEM, NY— Team Gotham Hoops, comprised of local men’s players, are competing in The Bitcoin Classic this Thursday (8/11) at Rucker Park. The team will tip-off the multi-day, winner-take-all event with their quarterfinal game at 3:00pm EST.
Eight teams are competing for $20K worth of Bitcoin via event-sponsor CashApp. The event will host four games on Thursday and three games, semi-finals and championship, on Friday.
All games are scheduled to be hosted at the world famous park in East Harlem. General seating is free and the event will also be live streamed on the ClashTV app. Please note, Mount St. Michael Academy in The Bronx is the rain site.

Gotham Hoops to Compete in The Bitcoin Classic
Gotham Hoops will make its debut at Rucker Park this summer.
HARLEM, NY — Gotham Hoops will make its debut at Rucker Park this summer. The team is set to compete in The Bitcoin Classic (TBC) on August 11th & 12th at the legendary Harlem, NY court.
TBC is a single-elimination, winner-take-all tournament with $20K in Bitcoin up-for-grabs. The two-day event hosts eight adult teams before local fans. For more information, please visit TBC’s official website: thebitcoinclassic.com.
The Gotham Hoops team is sponsored by Rao’s in East Harlem. Established in 1896, Rao’s is celebrated as one of the countries’ oldest family owned and operated restaurants running in its original location.

Gotham Hoops Announces Roster for TBT 2022
The Basketball Tournament (TBT) is a high-stakes single-elimination, winner-take-all tournament.
The Basketball Tournament (TBT) is a high-stakes single-elimination, winner-take-all tournament. This year’s edition features 64 teams across eight regions. Gotham Hoops has applied to enter the Rucker Park region with hopes of competing for the $1M prize.
We recruited alumni from our annual Men’s College Senior Showcase to represent Gotham Hoops and showcase their skills to an international audience.

Team Gotham Hoops coaches are Ray Anczelowicz (Founder), Kevin Spann II (former college basketball player at Saint Peter’s and LIU Post / former head coach at St. Joseph’s College) and Kingsley Aguh (former college basketball player at New Haven).
The team will learn their fate during the 2022 TBT Selection Show on Wednesday, June 22 at 12:00pm ET. If selected, Gotham Hoops will play their first game on Saturday, July 16 at the famous Rucker Park.
