Gotham Hoops LLC was founded by Ray Anczelowicz in 2009 as a scouting publication for men’s college basketball coaches. The service provided insight on boy’s high school basketball players throughout New York. Our scouting reports and highlight reels helped increase the visibility of local recruits to national two-and-four year schools. Upon chronicling the careers of former prep school standouts, we began featuring updates of men’s college basketball student-athletes on our website.

This eventually ignited our first-ever event. The Inaugural Gotham Hoops Invitational was hosted in April 2014 on Long Island. The one-day showcase invited top local men’s college seniors to compete before an audience of fans, media and international scouts. Since then, more than 100 alumni have gone on to sign pro contracts with teams throughout the NBA and various FIBA leagues.

In 2018, we returned to our roots with our Inaugural Gotham Hoops Winter Classic. The two-day event hosted 17 boy’s high school and post-graduate basketball teams from the U.S. and Canada. Event participants are now standouts with NCAA, NAIA and JUCO programs.

The mission of Gotham Hoops is to create platforms for basketball recruits and teams to connect and win.
