HISTORY

Gotham Hoops was launched in 2009 in a mission to spotlight under recruited boy's high school basketball student-athletes throughout Greater New York City.

Founder Ray Anczelowicz (LIU Brooklyn '15) attended regularly scheduled prep and post-grad games, evaluating rising prospects in the area. Scouting reports were shared with college coaches and connected local recruits with national programs.

In 2014 we hosted our first-ever event. The Inaugural Gotham Hoops Invitational hosted 40 of the best men's college basketball seniors from the Tri-State Area. Participants compete before local fans and international scouts each year. Event alumni have gone onto sign pro contracts in the NBA, G League and EuroLeague.

The Gotham Hoops Classic debuted in 2018 and hosted 17 boy's prep and post-grad basketball programs. Teams traveled from all over the U.S. and Ontario to participate. More than 200 recruits played in front of college and pro scouts.
