Gotham Hoops was initiated in 2009 by Ray Anczelowicz. The scouting and recruiting website featured up-and-coming boy’s basketball student-athletes throughout New York. Custom player evaluations and highlight reels boosted the recruitment of local prospects to national two-and-four year schools.
Upon chronicling the careers of prep standouts, we added men’s college basketball players to our reports. We launched our first ever-event in 2014 in a mission to showcase graduating student-athletes to pro scouts. Our annual Gotham Hoops Invitational hosts 36 top men’s college seniors in a tournament-style event. In five years, more than 125 of our alumni have gone on to sign pro contracts with FIBA, G League and NBA teams.
In 2018, we hosted the Inaugural Gotham Hoops Winter Classic to showcase international high school basketball teams. This mid-season, multi-day event selects 16 teams to compete before college recruiters nationwide. Recent participating teams represented New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maine, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, and Canada.
Our mission is to connect basketball student-athletes and teams, worldwide.
