Baldwin’s Timberlake Scores 1,000th Career Point in Big Win
Baldwin HS (NY) senior Chase Timberlake made history Friday night, scoring his 1,000th career point in a 74-60 win over Valley Stream Central.
Friday night was one to remember for Baldwin High School (NY) senior Chase Timberlake, who scored his 1,000th career point during the Bruins’ 74-60 victory over Valley Stream Central (NY). He’s only the second player in school history to hit this milestone, joining head coach Darius Burton in the exclusive club.
Timberlake didn’t stop there—he dropped 28 points, dished out eight assists, snagged six steals, and grabbed three rebounds, leading Baldwin (8-4) to a Nassau III win and their 25th consecutive playoff appearance.
Timberlake and the Bruins take on Thurgood Marshall Academy in the 2025 Gotham Hoops Classic on Sunday, February 2nd, at Stevenson High School in the Bronx. Don’t miss it!
Duncan Dunks D1 Commitment
Conn. native heading to the America East Conference
Quentin ‘Que’ Duncan is off the board. The dynamic guard has committed to NJIT and will be playing his college ball in the America East Conference.
A terrific offensive talent with a versatile skill set, Duncan made a strong impression in his Gotham Hoops Classic debut in 2023, exploding for 31 points in an impressive victory for Notre Dame Prep (CT).
Previously a 2025 recruit, Duncan competed for Putnam Science Academy (CT) this past season before reclassifying to his original class of 2024.
Keep an eye on Duncan as he continues to turn heads, even in his freshman season for the Highlanders.
Argentinian Standout Alesso Commits to ASUN Champs
Top Performer at 2024 Gotham Hoops Classic Chooses College
Standout big man Stefano Alesso, representing Bridgeport Prep (CT), announced his commitment this morning to join Stetson University next year. The talented 7'0" playmaker, originally from Argentina, made a significant impact with his debut performance in the U.S. this season.
Alesso's prowess was evident at this year's Gotham Hoops Classic, where he led his team to an impressive 2-0 record. His exceptional combination of size and skill posed a formidable challenge to opposing players, showcasing his ability to dominate both ends of the court. Alesso’s court vision and decision-making were on full display as he consistently made impactful plays throughout the showcase.
His impressive performances quickly garnered interest from Division I programs, culminating in his decision to join coach Donnie Jones and the reigning Atlantic Sun champions. Alesso's commitment adds significant depth to Stetson University's roster, promising an exciting season ahead.

Greer Commits to Bowling Green
The Post-Grad standout ended his recruitment earlier this week.
Arguably the top Post-Grad prospect in the nation ended his recruitment as Ejay Greer committed to Bowling Green State University earlier this week.
The 6-foot-8 playmaker put on a show this season at Rocktop Academy (PA). He posted averages of 25.1 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Greer also starred in this year’s Gotham Hoops Classic where he was named a PRIME MVP with stellar performances across three showcase games.

The 2023 Gotham Hoops Classic presented by PRIME hosted 17 Boy’s HS and Prep Teams on January 28th & 29th at Adlai Stevenson HS in The Bronx, NY.
The 2023 Gotham Hoops Classic presented by PRIME was hosted at Stevenson HS in The Bronx, NY this past weekend. The 4th Annual showcase featured 17 Boy’s HS and Prep Teams across 12 games.
Here’s a recap of the two-day event:
Day 1 - Saturday, January 28th
Game 1: The Stony Brook School (NY) 46 def. Seward Park HS (NY) 30
The Long Island-based program took a quick lead and never looked back.
PRIME MVP: Nate Small ‘24
Game 2: John F. Kennedy HS (NY) 78 def. South Bronx Prep (NY) 49
JFK jumped out ahead out-the-gate and proved to be too much for SBP.
PRIME MVP: Ryan Leonardo ‘23
Game 3: Notre Dame Prep (CT) 91 def. Rocktop Academy (PA) 84
Rocktop clawed their way back from a double-digit deficit but NDP hung on.
PRIME MVP: Que Duncan ‘24
Game 4: Benjamin Cardozo HS (NY) 69 def. Wings Academy (NY) 60
Coach Ron Naclerio secured his 900th career win in this back-and-forth affair.
PRIME MVP: Isaiah Wright ‘23
Game 5: Thurgood Marshall (NY) 49 def. King’s Christian (MD) 47
Down big early, KCA mounted a 2nd half comeback but fell short at the buzzer.
PRIME MVP: Mohamed Diaby ‘23
Day 2 - Sunday, January 29th
Game 6: Adlai Stevenson HS (NY) 53 def. The Knox School (NY) 50
This one was tight throughout as host Stevenson held on for the narrow victory.
PRIME MVP: Francisco Demers ‘23
Game 7: Our Saviour Lutheran Prep (NY) 81 def. Rocktop Academy (PA) 72
Down early once again, Rocktop would briefly lead in the 2nd half only to fall late.
PRIME MVP: Skylar Winick ‘23
Game 8: SCA Regional (MA) 78 def. King’s Christian (MD) 57
SCA’s scrappy crew were too much for KCA to handle from the get-go.
PRIME MVP: Yderrick Gonzales ‘26
Game 9: Campus Magnet HS (NY) 67 def. Thurgood Marshall (NY) 55
A tale of two halves as CM went from down double-digits to a 12-point win.
PRIME MVP: William Lodico ‘23
Game 10: Benjamin Cardozo HS (NY) 63 def. John F. Kennedy HS (NY) 50
The Judges ruled this one from the get-go and never relinquished their lead.
PRIME MVP: Jordin Walker ‘24
Game 11: Wings Academy (NY) 58 def. Brooklyn Collegiate (NY) 54
Argurably the game of the showcase, two NYC powerhours battled as Wings prevailed.
PRIME MVP: Bryce Simmons ‘24
Game 12: Rocktop Academy (PA) 79 def. Bridgeport Prep (CT) 74
Rocktop secured their first win of the event in this battle of out-of-town programs.
