New Yorkers Represent USA in FIBA Americas

The roster is set for this year's USA U18 team and the squad features a trio of New York natives. Competing in Chile for the 2016 FIBA Americas will be Mohamed Bamba (New York, N.Y.), Hamidou Diallo (Corona, N.Y.) and Kevin Huerter (Clifton Park, N.Y.).

Bamba is a unique prospect with a terrific combination of size and skill. Standing in at 6'11", this rim-protector is a highly sought after recruit in the class of 2017. While Bamba calls New York home he attends the Westtown School in Pennsylvania.

Diallo is a Queens product with a sky-high ceiling. He has made the summer his own with impact performances at just about every top event, thus far. Now this Putnam Science Academy (CT) star has the opportunity to add Chile to the list this month.

Huerter, an incoming freshman at the University of Maryland, was named New York State's Mr. Basketball last season. He is the face of Shenendehowa High School (literally) and now has the opportunity to play for his college coach Mark Turgeon (an assistant with the team).

The team is currently down in Houston, Texas for Training Camp before preliminary round play tips-off Tuesday, July 19. USA is pitted in Group B with host Chile, Puerto and U.S. Virgin Islands.
