Maurice Joseph has been named interim head coach at George Washington University.
Joseph played collegiately for Hall of Fame coach Tom Izzo at Michigan State before transferring to Vermont. As a senior in 2010, the Catamounts won the America East Conference Championship and earned a trip the NCAA Tournament.
The Montreal, Quebec native played professionally in Israel before dedicating himself to the coaching profession. He's served as an assistant coach for G.W. since 2011-12. Joseph played a key role in the development of former Colonial and current NBA player, Patricio Garino.
The 2016-17 season will be Joseph's first as interim head coach in Washington, D.C.
