Anderson Earns All-League Honor

Eric Anderson (Newark, N.J.) was named the Luxembourg Defensive Player of the Year and All-Luxembourg Second Team this season, as announced by the Luxembourg Basketball League.

The Gotham Hoops Invitational alum averaged 17.1 points per game in 18 contests for T71 Dudelange. Anderson led the club with 12.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per outing.

Prior to joining Dudelange, the three-time Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year competed in 10 games with the Gladiators Trier in Germany's Pro A.

Harkless Erupts in Blazers Win

Maurice Harkless (Queens, N.Y.) scored 19 points and secured 10 rebounds as the Portland Trailblazers (3-2) defeated the Los Angeles Clippers (2-3), 108-98.

The breakout performance by Harkless, 22, was high post-season career-best. It was also his first playoff double-double. The feats came at great timing, as were his 17 first-half points.

While teammate Damian Lillard finished with 22 points, it wasn't until the fourth quarter the All-Star guard came alive offensively. Lillard's backcourt mate C.J. McCollum, the league's Most Improved Player this year, led the team with 27 points.

Harkless and the Blazers look to closeout the series Friday, in Portland.

Walker Leads Buzz City in Playoffs

As the NBA's Portland Trailblazers and Charlotte Hornets trailed two games to none in the first round of the playoffs, a pair of New York City products have helped propel their teams to consecutive wins.

Maurice Harkless (Queens, N.Y.) scored 10 and 12 points in back-to-back games as the No. 5 seed Blazers visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday in a 2-2 series tie. The versatile 6-foot-9 forward and former Big East Rookie of the Year, by way of Forest Hills HS and St. John's, hauled down 7 rebounds in both wins for Portland.

As the playoffs continue, expect both city natives to aid their teams' success.
