Blatt Named Coach at Olympiacos

Blatt Named Coach at Olympiacos

David Blatt has reached an agreement to become Greek club Olympiacos Piraeus' next head coach. Per Eurohoops.net, the deal was finalized on Monday after a few minor details were resolved. This will be Blatt's second stint in Greece; the Israeli-American previously served as head coach of Aris B.C. in 2010.

The former EuroLeague Coach of the Year will look to bring Olympiacos its first EuroLeague championship since the club won back-to-back titles from 2012-2013.

Blatt is coming off a season in which he led Turkish club Darussafaka S.K. to a EuroCup title, just a season after he brought the team to its first-ever Euroleague playoffs. Prior to Darussafaka, Blatt led Lebron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers to the 2015 NBA Finals- and served as head coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv before that, winning the EuroLeague title with the club in 2014.
