Gotham Hoops Classic alum AJ Lawson was recently selected to participate in this year's FIBA-NBA Basketball Without Borders. He joins fellow Canadians Tyrese Samuel of Wasatch Academy and Brewster Academy's Joel Brown in the event.

Lawson, the No. 1 ranked prospect in Canada, will look to build on the success of his previous BWB selection in July, 2015. The 6'6" guard out of GTA Prep (CAN) won the 3-Point Shootout during the Bahamas-hosted competition.

The NBA, in collaboration with FIBA, have been hosting this event during All-Star Weekend since 2011 as part of their initiative to promote the sport on an international level. In doing so, top prospects from all over the world are able to compete against each other in order to showcase the game's worldwide growth.

In recent years, Canada has quickly emerged as a world power in Basketball. A standout performance from Lawson and Co. will only further solidify Canada's status on the world stage and will undoubtedly serve as a stepping stone for Lawson and his fellow countrymen on their path to collegiate and professional stardom.
